On its 11th year, LIDU showcases a deep portfolio of project types ranging from Residential, Hospitality, Retail and Mixed-Use developments. The firm has also progressed and recently, it launched a satellite office in Manila as a response to the growing interest from stakeholders outside of Iloilo. LIDU is big on giving back, hence, the introduction of LIDU Cares, which is the firm’s corporate social responsibility arm. It aims to be the beacon of hope using design to empower towards transformation.

Isabella is the President and Principal Interior Designer of her design firm Living Innovations Design Unlimited, Inc. in Iloilo City. A proud graduate of University of Santo Tomas, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design degree, magna cum laude, and placed 10th spot in the Philippine Interior Design board exam in 2007. She is a finalist of the 2017 Kohler Bold Design Awards for Prodigy: Rising Star Category, and also a nominee for the 2018 Haligi ng Dangal Awards: Interior Design Category. This 2020, she is an awardee for the Asia Pacific Property Awards – Residential Interiors for the WW House.
As an interior designer, Isabella keenly focuses on creative problem solving, an obligation far more important than aesthetics alone. Isabella is keenly aware of her responsibility to the environment while infusing craftsmanship into her work. For her, there is absolutely no room for wastage. Apart from visuals, everything must be usable and functional. Moreover, there is no sign of mediocrity in her many oeuvres. This is evidently seen in the rich textures of her designs, her ‘minimalist’ choice, the inimitable play of surfaces and space, and the undeniable showcase of inventive creativity.
Isabella aspires to acquire bigger and challenging projects as well as collaborate with other adept interior designers. Linear forms, adept choice of materials, concept-wise clarity, client-centered philosophy—unique in all aspects. Most of Isabella’s works are an absolute reflection of her client’s personality. Moreover, every project is entitled to be unique, with no trace of repetition. Isabella makes sure every project has its own identity and her flexibility is evident in every project she encounters. It is easy to daydream about building a dream house but actually building one can easily turn into a nightmare, beginning with the wrong choice of architect and interior designer. As if that were not hard enough, problems can easily double if an owner wants to incorporate items from an older house, items with strong emotional and sentimental attachment. Together, the designer and owner must negotiate the minefield between the “old” and “new”, the “my” versus “your” concepts.
Sab impressed me from our first meeting, listening to my ideas and then explaining her design method. She later visited our decades-old house to survey the items that I wanted her to incorporate into the new design. This concept alone, an obstacle for me because I could not conceive blending the past with the future, involved meticulous measurement and photographing. Some time later, Sab presented me with a beautiful presentation of her magic: an artful fusion of my old furniture, décor, and artwork within a contemporary house design. And the construction had not even started yet.
The next hurdle was sourcing the newer items. With virtually countless choices available for furniture, lighting, and other fixtures, it is easy to fall into decision paralysis or worse, to make expensive decisions that will be regretted later on. Sab and I finished the major buying decisions within three days, the layout arriving via email for adjustments and approval. Details such as paint colors, positioning of lighting fixtures, wallpaper and curtains were quickly and easily settled.
With everything prepared so thoroughly, it took Sab and her team only three days to actually lay everything out, leaving me in awe and admiration. The entire experience of building my dream house with Sab went seamlessly and quickly. She would always listen to my questions and offer advice when asked. A home is an expression of oneself, and ours is no exception. Sab’s heart and soul is part of my home, and I love her for that.”

“It took us four years to decide to have our 21-year old house remodeled. There were a lot of things that had to be considered since it would mean that we have to move-out while construction is underway. But then looking at the stuff we have accumulated through the years, being forcibly kept in cabinets in a manner that’s not at all pleasing to the eyes, we finally gave the green light to give the house a major facelift!
The architect did a good job in giving the house a new look. We however stumbled upon another challenge which was to look for an interior designer who can make the house look modern Asian with a minimalist touch. A close friend referred Isabella Robles Go to us and the rest, so they say, is history. It was one big puzzle and she was able to put the pieces together perfectly with her choice of furniture and accents. She gave our new home a “staycation” look that we seldom leave the house anymore.
